How do I subscribe to Fizz Home Internet?
Subscribing to Fizz Home Internet is a breeze, but here are a few pointers.
-
Your home address
Whether it’s your house, cottage or apartment, we need the address where you would like to have our Home Internet services installed. This step is crucial to check if the Fizz Home Internet service is available at your place.
As you start to type in your address, the field will autofill with address proposals. Make sure you pick the right one, all the way down to your apartment number if applicable.
Know that Fizz services unfortunately cannot be used for commercial purposes or in the operation of a business.
Our Internet service is not available at your address?
It is for many residential addresses in Quebec and in Clarence-Rockland (ON) region and, over time, may be for more and more postal codes. So, come back to see us in a while.

Choose your plan
All our plans are unlimited. The price of your plan will therefore vary based on the downloading speed you choose. Should one of the speed options not be available at your address, you simply won’t be able to select it.
Not sure which speed to choose? We have a neat table to help you.

If the speed you do end up selecting isn’t quite right, remember that you can change your plan whenever you want.

Choose your installation option.
Your Home Internet will only work with a Fizz Wi-Fi modem.
Tips for placing your modem:
-
Put your modem in a central location in your home, and close to where you will be using the Internet most often.
-
Find an open space so it doesn't overheat and to allow the signal to travel well.
-
If the coaxial outlet is not in the right place, or is not activated, you will need to schedule a service call to relocate it.
Two installation options are available to you:
Self-installation
-
Fee: included with the price of your plan.
-
Make sure you have a working coaxial jack.
-
You will receive your modem by mail at the address associated with your Home Internet plan. If your address is not eligible for the modem to be mailed, don't worry. A technician will deliver it to you free of charge.
-
Clear and detailed instructions included in the modem box itself allow you to install your modem and configure your network yourself.
VIP installation
-
Fee: $60
-
A technician will bring you your Fizz Wi-Fi modem, install it, and configure your connection as well as your Wi-Fi network.
Good to know: Your first monthly payment will be charged to your credit card when you subscribe. Your monthly payment cycle, on the other hand, will begin with the activation of your Fizz Wi-Fi modem.

Appointment with a technician? Read this.
You've come to the right place if you've chosen the VIP Installation option, or if you've chosen Self-Installation and a technician will deliver your modem.
-
Schedule your installation appointment at a time when an adult (18+) will be present for the entire duration of the appointment.
-
An installation appointment can take as little as 5 minutes if everything looks good and the cable connection is functional. But keep in mind that it can take up to two (2) hours if work is required, or if you chose the VIP installation.
-
IMPORTANT: For multi-unit buildings, make sure you have access to the building's wiring room.
Consult the detailed FAQ about the technician’s visit to your service address, with info on :
- How to change or cancel an appointment.
- What to do if you receive an email for the failure of an appointment.
- Important things to know for any technician visit.
- Etc.Good to know: You can upgrade from Self-installation to VIP installation on the day of your technician appointment — just let the technician know. In that case, the technician will inform you of any applicable incremental fees before working on anything, and upon your approval these fees will be automatically charged to the payment method associated with your Fizz account. However, you cannot downgrade from VIP to self-installation.

-
Activate your modem.
Modem delivered by mail:
Instructions for activating your modem at the speed associated with your plan are included in your modem box, but here they are again in case your dog ate them:
-
Log in to your Fizz account.
-
You should see a tile with your order details in the Overview section. If not, go to My settings > Order history.
-
Activate your modem. It will then switch to the speed associated with your plan.
IMPORTANT: Your payment cycle will start as soon as your modem is activated at full speed. If you do not do it yourself in your account, Fizz will activate it remotely three (3) days after its delivery date, whether you have installed it or not.
Modem delivered by a technician:
When a modem is delivered by a technician, it is automatically and immediately activated, and your payment cycle starts at that moment. You will be able to use your Home Internet service as soon as your installation is completed by you, or by the technician in the case of the VIP installation option.

Avoid doubling up.
Once your Home Internet plan is activated, don’t forget to contact your previous provider to cancel your Internet subscription with them, and avoid paying double.
In addition to your Fizz subscription, you can, of course, choose to have other subscriptions at the same service address, such as an Internet connection from another provider or cable TV service. For those situations, you’ll need a splitter for your cable connection. You can also have a second cable outlet installed.
